Star Wars Battlefront: 5 best Star Card hands. It depends on the game mode, but usually for WA, I take jump pack, explosive shot and ion torpedo for rebels, and jump pack, upgraded personal shield, and flash gernads as imperials.

Here are some tips that I always give newcomers:.ALWAYS shoot from the hip. If you play COD, then you are used to using zoom as a way to get more accurate shots. ![]() Not the case in Battlefront; zooming in actually does not increase your accuracy at all. It only slows down your movement, which means that you cannot strafe effectively when zooming. And let me tell you what - strafing is essential in this game. The blaster fire has to be lead (unlike COD where your shot will immediately hit wherever your cross hairs are aiming) so strafing becomes a very effective counter when fired upon as it makes it extremely difficult for an opponent to lead their shots on you.Different guns are great at different ranges. Figure out what guns you like to use and what range they are best at. Then try your best to ONLY engage enemies at that distance. Best Gun To Use In Star Wars BattlefrontFor instance, in close quarters combat (like Jabba's Palace), the CA-87 is going to win any firefight. If you have a medium - long range weapon such as the EE-3 or Relby, then for god sake do your best to engage enemies at a medium to long range distance rather than at close range where you will lose. If you are running the EE-4, which is a great short to medium range weapon, then engage people at that distance. Don't run out in the open on a large map where gents probably have lots of snipers and heavy blasters capable of shooting long distances at a large damage output. If you're running a close to medium range weapon on a large map then move from cover to cover and engage enemies at distances in which you will win. And if you're playing on a tiny CQC style map then get a gun that's going to shine in that setting. It takes a lot of time to figure out what guns are best at different ranges, and then on top of that to find out what guns you really like and are comfortable with within their ranges. Give yourself some time.Play in third person. Everyone has their preference in playing third person or first person, but I really believe that an argument can be made that third person is objectively better. You can see SO MUCH more of the Battlefront - if you play in first person then you have no way at all to see who is approaching you from behind (easy to get beat down), you can't see around corners or shoot from cover, and you can only see what's in front of you rather than on each side. This becomes much more apparent in game modes where you really have to play the objective - take Extraction or Walker Assault for example. A common strategy for me if I'm playing as the imperials in these modes is to jump pack into the objective area, throw a smoke grenade, open up a personal shield, and run up to the objective to disarm it. Most players don't think to switch to a sidearm (like the scattergun) to pop my shield, so they try to run up and melee me. Being in third person, I can see them coming and I rotate around the objective while still holding down the button to disarm it. By the time they beat me down I have already shut it down.(This one only matters when playing in third person) Switch shoulders constantly. You have the ability to see over either shoulder of your player, and you should take advantage of this. I will allow you to always survey an area from behind cover before approaching. And it will definitely give you a superior advantage in a firefight when you can see more than the opposing player can. It may feel awkward at first, but the sooner you switch the sooner you will get used to shooting from both angles.Play Skirmish. If you just got this game, it may be frustrating if you're getting killed each game. Working on your aim (learning to lead your shots) and getting a feel for each weapon is something that can be accomplished offline. All the weapons are available to test out so you can get an idea of what blasters you like before you use precious credits to unlock them in multiplayer. It's probably a lot easier to learn how to strafe in Skirmish also because you'll have more wiggle room for error and learning than online. You can also test out all the heroes (some of them require the paid DLC to use) and I highly recommend doing this - there's nothing worse than getting a hero pick up in a game and spawning in only to get your ass kicked because you're not comfortable using a certain hero.Cut yourself some slack. This game was pretty controversial at launch to say the least, so a large number of the players that had the game at launch have quit and moved on (it has gotten SO much better since then through constant patches and updates). So remember that a majority of the players you're going up against have been playing since launch. There's a lot of die hard players out there with over a month of game time logged. You're going to have issues going up against them because Battlefront does have a learning curve. Just the shooting mechanics and leading your shots takes time. Learning to shoot from the hip takes time. And ranking up and unlocking better weapons and star cards takes time too. The game can be pretty top heavy because the longer you play the more things you can unlock. And of course the more you play the more experience you have which makes you better anyways. So in a lot of ways the advantage is stacked for the veterans and it can be frustrating as a new player. But DONT give up. This game is very fun once you break it in.Play with a partner! In game you can designate someone in your party as your partner. This gives you a huge advantage because not only could they explain things to you if you're using mics but also in game there are advantages as well. For instance, you can respawn on your partner. This is a HUGE advantage when trying to capture an objective - if one of you gets killed then you can just spawn back in quickly on the other one before they die. And when you're in close proximity to your partner, all your star cards recharge at a much faster rate. It's a huge advantage to play with someone. And even if you're flying solo, the game should automatically assign you a partner randomly from your teammates in every game mode you play. So spawn in on them and try to stay with them to get faster recharge rates. If you don't have any friends that play on your current platform then find friends on this sub (we have Friend Finder Fridays!) I have tons of friends that I play with whom I met through our discussions on here. If you play on Xbox and want to add me, my username is my GT. When you play COD or a game like Halo, you put the cross hair on your target and squeeze the trigger. The gun shoots the bullet where the crosshairs are pointing. They do have some fallout at longer ranges but you get the idea.In SWBF, the blaster bolts shoot very slowly. If someone is running, you can't place the cross hairs on their body - if you do then you will shoot behind them. You have to put your cross hairs in front of them in order to hit them. This is what I mean by 'leading your shots'The same is true in Fighter Squadron. Once I learned to lead my shots in that mode my K/D about doubled. Tips for Fighter Control:. Play in 3rd person. Soft Lock has an 'overheat' so use it only when you have to. Primary Laser cannons have an overheat as well. Torpedos and Missiles can take down shields immediately. Speed Boost is very effective on all Tie Variants and A-Wing (especially with cooldown token). Use evasive maneuvers if a missile is 'incoming' don't use it if your just getting soft locked. If you use it too early a smart player will wait until they see you use your evasive maneuver then let the missile fly. (Evasive Maneuvers have a cool down period as well). Current AI fighters (B/Y-Wing & Tie Bomber/Tie Defender) are really OP currently and will most likely be made as playable vehicles on next patch or nerfed. Dont let them frustrate you too much if you keep getting one shotted by those. Hero Ships (Falcon/Slave 1 & Red/Tie Advanced) Each Hero ship has its own types of advantages and are useful in various situation. Currently IMO I hope DICE balances these 4 units out cause each one feels a bit unbalanced with certain Hero Ships being more powerful then the rest. When strafing infantry on the ground try to find clusters of infantry and spray laser fire in the general area. Fighters have pretty large splash damage and can wipe out infantry easily if your skilled enough. (Just don't get too close to the ground or you'll crash). Best Gun In Star Wars Battlefront 2016If your in a Rebel fighter specifically on Walker Assault game mode when the Walkers are vulnerable do your best to try and concentrate all your fire on the walker. One fighter can do a lot of heavy damage to the walker if you shoot at it the entire time with your laser and missiles. T-47 Airspeeders are better then fighters at taking out ground infantry sine they have larger splash damage. If your an airspeeder on phase 3 during Walker Assault and attempt a Tow Cable takedown save your radar scrambler for right when you do the take down, it will make it much more difficult for people to shoot you down while attempting the takedown. If you manage to be in a Tie Fighter on Phase 3 of Walker Assault when the Rebels have access to Airspeeders (which can take down a full health walker if left unattended) shoot those speeders down. You'll eliminate a very serious and potential threat to losing the game mode in the final hour. Be the hero your team needs. HahaAll I can think of for now. If I think of more Ill add to it.Safe flying out there pilot. Weapons are entirely subjective, although the two starting guns (A280c & E-11) are up there with the best in the game. Do you have the Ultimate Edition/Season Pass or just the Standard Edition with the base game? While I am a big believer that each weapon is viable in a certain time or place, a lot of people prefer weapons that are only available to be unlocked if you own the Season Pass. Most used Season Pass weapons would be the TL-50 and the EE-4. If you don't have the Season Pass then honestly just get into the game with the A-280C and the E-11, they are pretty reliable and well rounded at all distances so they are good weapons to break the game in with. Later on you can find weapons that are better suite at certain ranges and play around until you figure out what you prefer and what best suits your play style. Getting the right combination of Star Cards in Star Wars Battlefront can make a massive difference to your game, and since we've been playing it a lot lately we've come up with a list of our favourite hands. These cover a wide variety of situations, and we would encourage you to share them and use the code names associated as much as possible. Nothing would give us more joy than if, in a Battlefront game in the distant future, we heard a random person say they were running a Mos Eisley Patron or trying The Reckless Wookie. The Han of All TradesAlright, if you're starting out at Battlefront and haven't found your niche yet, or if you just like being an everyman kind of player, then you need a hand of Star Cards to match. Your first port of call should always be a grenade (do not apply this logic to things like the queue in Starbucks being too long). The Thermal Detonator is great for tactically bouncing off walls and into unsuspecting enemies behind cover; the Thermal Impactor is more immediately deadly but requires more precise aim. Then slot in a long range weapon like the Pulse Cannon as your other regular card, giving you some ranged flexibility if you need it.For your Charged Star Card go for the Ion Shot, which adds some serious chops against droids and vehicles. If you feel like that hobbles you too much on modes without a vehicle focus then switch it out for Focus Fire or Cooling Cell, both of which will make you more deadly to the ground troops. The Full Scale AssaultIt's important to press your advantage in Battlefront, and you can do that well with an an aggressive assault tactic, especially on the bigger game modes, Walker Assault and Supremacy, where it's okay to be relentless canon fodder.Choose a powerful main weapon that lets you start firing from range (along the lines of the A280C or maybe the DLT-19 if you're feeling frisky). Build your deck with the Cooling Cell as the Charged Star Card, the Thermal Detonator to take out pockets of enemies, and the Scout Pistol for when you get in close. This way you're dealing significant damage at any range and, with a bit of skill, can clear out a lot of the front line. The Mos Eisley PatronAlso known as The Up Close and Personal, this is for players who like to see the whites of their enemy's eyes before they extinguish the light in them. Choose something like the CA-87 as your main weapon, which has, we must emphasise, almost zero range, but is extremely powerful, especially if you can make those headshots. Go for the Cooling Cell to let you get off more shots if you're facing a group of bad guys, and stack it against your grenade of choice to spread some mid to long range panic (personally we favour the Flash Grenade here, but the Thermal Detonator is a faithful explosive) and the Jump Pack to close distance quickly or get the heck out of dodge as necessary.Use The Mos Eisley Special on small maps and maps with tunnel-like structure where you can surprise the enemy - think Sullest and Tatooine, and the Ice Caves on Hoth. Endor has a little too much cover, and the big Hoth map not quite enough. The Brave DefenderSometimes when you're playing Battlefront someone plants their metaphorical flag and says 'This far only. You go no further!' If you want that person to be you then you need a good hand to back it up. Start with the Personal Shield in your Charged Star Card slot and support it with the Impact Grenade and the Scout Pistol to keep the ranged and close enemies at bay long enough for friendly troops to push the enemy back. If you don't have the Personal Shield unlocked you can always go for the Explosive Shot or the Cooling Cell, but this can turn the Brave Defender into more of an Aggressive Suicide Mission, (which is also a viable tactic). This tactic is most useful on game modes like Cargo, Drop Zone, Droid Run, and, to a lesser extent, Supremacy. The Long Ranger (and Tauntaun)If you're playing on larger maps, or if you're a rebel on Endor or a trooper on Hoth and you can see the enemy coming a mile off, picking people off at range is really satisfying. But what if you don't want to go all the way as a sniper?Choose a main weapon like the E-11 blaster, which is versatile and powerful so you won't sacrifice too much assault efficiency. Then fill your hand with the ever-satisfying Homing Shot, and use the Pulse Cannon (or Cycler Rifle at higher levels) for some sharp shooting. Focus Fire is a good Charged Star Card that increases the accuracy and firing power of your main weapon. The enemy won't see what hit them. This hand doesn't actually involve a tauntaun anywhere, we just wanted to stretch the pun name to breaking point. The MechanophobeIon. Every kind of Ion (that's the Ion Torpedo, the Ion Grenade, and the Ion Shot Charged Star Card). This is a specialist hand, mainly for rebels playing Walker Assault and Supremacy modes. Sure, you're bastard useless at almost anything but taking down robots and vehicles, but they'll be laughing on the other side of their faces when that AT-AT crashes to the ground. This is a bold choice to go with, so make sure you have a decent main hand weapon, and maybe play with people you know that can have your back if you need it. The Tuskan SniperThere's a Star Card called the Cycler Rifle that functions well as a sniper rifle and can go through energy shields (so it's not a bad card on its own), but that only lasts for a bit and you have to wait for it to recharge. What if you want to spec as a sniper full time?Alright, so you've got something like your T-21B or RT-97C rifle as your main weapon. You're going to need the Scout Pistol in case anyone gets too close to you, and the Jump Pack to prevent that happening (it's good for making a quick escape if someone spots where you've been camping). The Charged Card we've found most helpful as a sniper is the Scan Pulse, which shows you where all the enemies are, even if they're behind cover. This not only lets you pick your shots better, but also alerts you if anyone's sneaking up to flank you. You might want to consider levelling the Sharpshooter Trait Card if headshots are your particular thing.Sniping works best on Hoth and Endor, but there are some good spots on Tatooine maps too. Don't camp too long, though, because everyone's starting to figure out where those spots are now. The Unleasher of HellThis card combo is messy and fun, and is a favourite for quick, smaller scale games like Blast, where it's a simple team v. Team with no vehicles or heroes to contend with. All you have to do is kill as many of the enemy as you possibly can, so why not take the most chaotic route possible?Pair a Thermal Detonator with an Impact Grenade to blow up enemies in two kinds of ways! This gives you a double shot at the grenade spam tactic, so if they think they escaped you can immediately prove them wrong. Take the Explosive Shot for your Charged Star Card and you can take out pockets of enemies even more personally. Swap out one of your grenades for the Barrage card (as soon as you're a high enough level) for even more explosions. The Reckless WookieIf you enjoy playing the capture and control games like Cargo and Drop Zone, this is a fun one to pull out of your arsenal every once in a while, but be warned that they're all pretty high level cards. Make sure you have the Personal Shield as your Charged Star Card, and either the Flash or Smoke Grenade and Bowcaster for your regular cards. It requires some good timing on your part, but what you do is this: Wait till you see a group of enemies clustered near the point you want to capture (or clustered together anywhere, really). Throw in the grenade to confuse them all and give yourself some cover, then run in with your Personal Shield fired up and raise some hell with the Bowcaster charged up as much as you can. If the rest of your crew are paying attention they can move in and mop up any stragglers. Voila: you just looked pretty cool and helped achieve an objective all in one. If you made it work, that is. The Jar Jar SpecialThis is more of a challenge. Pick any game mode at random. Pick any weapon at random. Pick any three Star Cards at random. Do the best with what you have, flailing and running around enthusiastically, so at least you tried. People may end up assuming you must be an idiot savant and spin a huge conspiracy theory around you. This isn't just a joke entry: it's actually a lot of fun, especially if you and a couple of mates are all doing it at the same time. Imagine if you got a game where all 20 players on your team were doing this. A defeat, but what a glorious defeat! Dark Times II: Rising Son also introduced the VIP mode, where each team protects their single hero while in the progress of hunting down the opposing VIP for in-game points. But the best feature of all mentioned above must be a full Galactic Conquest campaign of about 10 maps with objective-based missions charting the journeys of a special Rebel commando detachment which was under the requirement of Luke Skywalker. Before you install this mod, please note that the sheer size of Dark Times II nearly conflicts with the Conversion Pack. Aquilaris: Deep SeaAquilaris: Deep Sea is a fantastic tale of subterfuge and sabotage.
